Gary's Dad's last day on the job was today. (I hope I don't get any details wrong) He's been with the postal service for 37 years! He was the mail carrier for all of Farmington for a long time, until it started growing by leaps and bounds, and additional routes became necessary. The post office had a big going away dinner at Joses' Tuesday night, and they "roasted" Jack. It was pretty funny...then today they had a celebration at the post office; Mayor Penn gave a nice speech and presented Jack with a key to the city, Pat (the postmaster) also gave a nice speech and presented him with a gift. Then as he left the post office, he got a police escort to his route as family, friends and co-workers stood along the street waving at him.
Here's to a happy retirement, Jack! We love you!
